One slab. Cut once.

Furniture built from the board you picked yourself.

We build custom tables and casework in Lakewood, Washington. When your project is ready for material, we call you from the lumberyard and you choose the actual slab your piece gets made from.

What custom means here

Most shops send you a photograph. We send you to the lumberyard.

A slab photograph flattens exactly the things that make a slab worth buying: the depth in the figure, the way color shifts across the width, where the live edge does something interesting. So when your project is ready for material, we get you on FaceTime or Zoom from the yard and walk the racks with you.

You see the actual boards, in the actual light, and you choose the one. Fifteen minutes settles it, and it is the difference between approving a table and choosing one.

Our yard carries a broad range of domestic hardwoods. Rather than pick from a list on paper, tell us the room and the look you are after and we will point you at the two or three species that get you there.

What we build

Tables are the core of the shop. The rest comes out of the same racks.

01

Custom dining tables

The centre of the room, sized to your space and seat count. Live edge, squared, or river.

02

Conference & commercial

Boardroom tops at length, with inlaid logos where the room calls for it.

03

Epoxy river & resin

Tinted resin through the natural void. Full pours and inlay work too.

04

Coffee & end tables

Smaller pieces on steel or sculptural bases, often cut from the same slab as the dining top.

05

Floating shelves

Cut at the same time as your table so the material actually matches.

06

Fireplace mantels

Single-slab mantels, scribed to the surround and finished to take heat.

07

Outdoor furniture

Species, joinery and finish chosen for weather and sun. Tell us up front.

08

Repair & refinishing

A burn, a gouge, a finish that has had a hard life. On our pieces and on ones we did not build.

How it goes

Five steps, and you are on the phone for two of them.

Step one

Consultation

Free. We scope the piece, the material and the timeline in one conversation. If it is not a fit, we say so.

Step two

Written quote

Material and dimensions named, good for thirty days. Crating and freight are already in the number.

Step three

You pick the slab

We call you from the lumberyard on FaceTime or Zoom and walk the racks. You choose the board.

Step four

Build

Two to six weeks for most tables, from the day the deposit lands. Complex commissions run longer and we tell you at quote time.

Step five

Delivery

Crated freight anywhere in the country. Within about four hours of Lakewood we bring it ourselves and install.

"A custom table is not a purchase you make twice. It is one slab, cut once, finished once, and it sits in the middle of the room you use most."

Commercial & hospitality

Boardrooms, restaurants, lobbies.

We build at commercial length and handle the parts that catch projects out: access measurements, bases that come apart, inlaid logos, and install into a finished space.

Bring us the drawings and the delivery window and we will tell you honestly whether the date is real.

Designers & builders

Working with the trade

A one-off table is a small line on your budget and a large one on your risk. It is the piece the client sees first, it arrives late in the schedule, and there is no second one on the shelf if it does not fit.

We take trade work on those terms.

Access measured before the base is designed

Give us the tightest doorway, stair turn or elevator depth on the route. We would rather build a base that comes apart than find out on the truck.

Your client picks the slab, with you on the call

The lumberyard video call happens with you in the room. We do not go around the designer.

Three active builds at a time

That is deliberate, and it is what keeps a two to six week window honest when you are holding an install date.

Before you ask for a quote

The answers most shops make you dig for.

What does it cost?

Projects start at $3,000 and there is no ceiling, because there is no standard table. The largest single driver is the wood: a wide, long, figured slab costs several times what a narrower plain one does. Everything else is labor. You get a written quote with material and dimensions named, good for thirty days.

How do payments work?

Fifty percent to begin, fifty percent at delivery. The deposit buys your material and reserves shop time, so it is non-refundable once the project is scheduled. No progress payments and no change fees in between. If the scope changes, we requote before we build.

Is there a warranty?

No, and we would rather say so here than bury it in fine print. Pieces are sold as delivered, which is why we ask you to inspect yours on arrival and why we put you at the lumberyard before a cut is made. What we do offer is repair: if something happens in five years, call us and we will fix it as a paid service.

Will it fit through my door?

That is on both of us to check early. Measure your doorways, hallway width, stair turns and elevator depth, and tell us the tightest one. We would much rather design a base that comes apart than discover the problem on the truck.

Will it look like the photo?

No piece will match a photo you saw online, because every slab is a different tree. Grain, color, mineral streaking, knots and voids all vary board to board. Solid wood also moves with the seasons, and small changes in surface and dimension over time are characteristics of the material rather than defects.
